38-year-old sentenced indeterminate sentence

The Western High Court has sentenced 38-year-old Thomas Thomsen to an indeterminate sentence for the murder of Mia Skadhauge Stevn, affirming the district court’s verdict. Although the prosecution had sought life imprisonment, the defense argued for a 16-year sentence. The decision for custody aligns with the initial ruling by the Court in Aalborg last June. The court president, after 10 AM, stated that a majority of jurors and judges agreed with Retslægerådet’s recommendation that Thomsen poses a risk to others and should therefore be sentenced to an indeterminate sentence instead of a fixed-term sentence when the offender is considered particularly dangerous.
