Jyske Bank maintains performance in Q1
Jyske Bank nearly matched its record profit from the previous year’s first quarter when it presented its financial results for the first three months of this year on Tuesday morning. The after-tax profit amounted to 1,286 million Danish kroner, only three million less than the same period last year. This was achieved despite an 11 percent increase in net interest income, which amounted to just under 2.5 billion kroner. While private customers moved money from low-interest accounts to higher-yielding savings products, lending to corporate customers also increased during the period. However, rising basic costs had a negative impact on the financial statement.
