Liberal Alliance aims to halve top tax rate

Liberal Alliance has abandoned its 2035 economic plan to fully remove the top-tier tax rate, now seeking to halve it based on new funding in a forthcoming economic plan. Party leader Alex Vanopslagh previews parts of this plan to the newspaper Jyllands-Posten ahead of the weekend’s party meeting. While maintaining the ultimate goal of top tax elimination, the party has moderated its stance on public sector cuts. With an increase to 22 projected parliamentary seats, there is speculation about Vanopslagh as a prime minister candidate, although he hasn’t declared this intention. Nonetheless, former Venstre politician Claus Hjort Frederiksen has publicly supported Vanopslagh for the potential candidacy.
