Copenhagen Pride loses more sponsors

Copenhagen Pride continues to lose sponsors including Rambøll, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Danske Bank, Ørsted, and Volkswagen. The latter two companies have paused their collaboration, citing the recent politicization of the event as the reason, with Volkswagen additionally mentioning the closure of their Volkswagen City Studio at Rådhuspladsen. This sponsor retreat began in February after a misstep in communication regarding the conflict in Gaza. Despite efforts to repair relationships, political overtones are seen as overshadowing the organization’s efforts and impeding the inclusive community spirit. Former chairman Lars Henriksen has stepped down, succeeded by Benjamin Hansen, who affirms Pride will take place this year, driven by volunteers. The organization faces financial challenges, with a reported deficit of nearly 1.5 million kroner last year.
