Herzog: Israel not behind Lebanon blasts

Israeli President Isaac Herzog, in an interview with Sky News, denies Israel’s involvement in the recent explosion of pagers and walkie-talkies in Lebanon which belonged to the militant group Hezbollah. Approximately 40 people were killed and over 3,000 were injured. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu states that Israel has inflicted unforeseen defeats on Hezbollah. Although it isn’t clear if Netanyahu’s remarks relate to recent border skirmishes or other attacks, he assures Hezbollah will understand the message. Herzog accuses Hezbollah of capturing Lebanon with Iran’s support. He claims Israel is defending itself, responding to missiles from Hezbollah. The conflict has escalated, with Hezbollah launching over 100 rockets at Israel recently, targeting the Ramat David airbase and a military industrial area. The majority of rockets were intercepted, and while some buildings were hit, Israeli rescue services reported no serious injuries.
