Social Democrats gain record support in over a year
The Social Democratic Party led by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has received its highest level of support in a year, with 22.6% indicating they would vote for the party according to a Voxmeter poll. This accolade comes as Frederiksen deals with war and peace talks in Europe capitals. Political analyst Hans Engell notes that Frederiksen benefits from crisis situations, similar to the support she gained during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Social Democrats are currently outpacing their previous support party, SF, which is now at 15%. The current SVM government coalition reached a combined 37.2% support, the highest since August 2024, despite previous setbacks for The Moderates. The recent poll shows an upward trend for the Social Democratic Party from past months, although still below the 50.1% achieved by government parties in the 2022 election.
