Berlingske Media sold to Norway’s Amedia

Danish media conglomerate Berlingske Media has been acquired by the Norwegian media group Amedia from Belgian DPG Media, with immediate effect. Amedia views this acquisition as a strategic opportunity to strengthen its position in the Nordic region and to share expertise across borders. Anders Opdahl, CEO of Amedia, stated that this move will allow for the export of Amedia’s expertise in digital media development in Europe. DPG Media had owned Berlingske since 2015 and, according to executive chairman Christian van Thillo, chose Amedia for its success in digitization after considering several potential buyers. The current leadership of Berlingske Media remains unchanged, with Anders Krab-Johansen at the helm. Amedia is the second-largest media group in Norway and generated 4.1 billion Norwegian kroner last year.
