Iconic filmmaker Erik Clausen passes away at 82

Erik Clausen, a renowned filmmaker and artist, died at 82 following a long illness, his family announced. His career began with political satire, moving on to acclaimed film collaborations, such as with musician Kim Larsen in the hit movie ‘Midt om Natten’, and performances in Larsen’s ‘Cirkus Himmelblå’. Clausen’s works often featured the common man’s struggle against the system and capitalism. Despite a diagnosis of Parkinson’s and other health challenges, he continued his artistic pursuits, focusing on painting and celebrating an exhibition for his 80th birthday last year. A book titled ‘Den frigjorte’ covering his lifelong contributions was also published.
