Young Swedes jailed for suspected embassy attack

Two young Swedes, aged 17 and 19, were detained and charged under terror laws for throwing hand grenades at the Israeli embassy in Denmark on October 2, without causing injuries. Their detention for 20 days was ordered by a Copenhagen city court after a three-hour preliminary hearing, concluding there is sufficient suspicion for their alleged terror intentions. They were arrested at the Copenhagen Central Station with a significant police presence on the day of the explosions, which occurred near the embassy on a rooftop terrace of a nearby house. They also face charges for violations of weapons laws and causing explosions. A special prosecutor suggested that more accomplices might be involved and hence requested a closed-door session for the hearing. Additionally, a 50-year-old man is detained, suspected of providing money to one of the accused for expenses including an electric scooter used for traveling to the embassy.
