Electric cars dominate Denmark’s first half-year

In Denmark, nearly half of all new cars driven on the roads during the first six months of the year were electric vehicles (EVs), marking the first time EVs have topped popularity charts for a half-year period. Mobility Denmark, formerly known as The Danish Car Importers, reported 38,939 new electric cars registered from January to June. This reflects a 49% increase compared to the same period last year. Tesla remains the leading brand, with Model Y selling 4,949 units and Model 3 with 3,528 units. Other popular models include Audi Q4 e-tron, Volkswagen ID.4, and Peugeot 208, with Peugeot also boasting two models in the top-10. Following initial sluggish sales due to tax changes, the new car market has accelerated. The total sale of 86,336 cars represents a 2.4% increase over the previous year.
