Government plans five new industrial parks

The SVM government proposes to create five industrial parks to expedite the establishment of domestic and foreign production companies in Denmark. This initiative was revealed at a press conference in Kalundborg on Friday. Selected larger areas will be allocated to house these parks, with municipalities able to bid for hosting them. According to Minister for Industry Morten Bødskov, the goal is to enable companies to quickly set up production. A ‘one-stop shop’ system will be implemented to coordinate the necessary permits through a single authority. Bødskov highlighted slow processes leading some companies to not invest in Denmark and Europe, resulting in job losses. Lars Sandahl Sørensen from the Confederation of Danish Industry emphasized the need for simplifying the onerous rules and procedures for businesses aiming to expand. The plan allocates 102.4 million kroner from now until 2027, funded within the framework of the government’s rural district initiative and the upcoming life science strategy.
