Bitcoin breaks $100,000 milestone
Bitcoin has for the first time surpassed a price of $100,000, trading at $103,000 on Binance. The cryptocurrency has seen its value double this year and is increasingly viewed as a mainstream investment. The SEC’s decision to allow bitcoin-linked ETFs has enabled both institutional and private investors to participate in the market more easily. The global crypto market valuation reached $3600 billion, near all-time highs, marking a significant shift in the financial landscape, says Mike Novogratz, CEO of the crypto company Galaxy Digital. Cryptocurrency, which operates independently of central banks using blockchain technology, is both a payment system and an investment product.
