DFDS invests in six electric ships
DFDS announces a billion-euro investment in six electric ferries to serve the English Channel, linking the EU and the UK. With operation starting in 2030, the initiative is a vital step toward reducing CO2 emissions. Routes between Dunkirk, Calais, and Dover are highlighted as optimal for electric ferry transport. DFDS collaborates with French and British partners for necessary infrastructure, targeting CO2 neutrality by 2050. Three new electric ships will operate under the French flag.
