Report: Ukraine launches major attack on Kursk
Ukraine has launched a significant attack on the Russian Kursk region using foreign missiles, according to pro-Russian military analyst Roman Alyokhin, who serves as an advisor to the Kursk region’s acting governor, Aleksej Smirnov. The attack was reported by Reuters on early Monday. The types of foreign missiles used have not been disclosed. Shortly after, governor Smirnov posted on Telegram that seven missiles, allegedly fired by Ukraine, were shot down. There are no reports of casualties or injuries from the attack. Last week, there were reports of Ukraine employing British Storm Shadow and American ATACMS missiles against Russia, following purported approval from U.S. President Joe Biden, as reported by various media, including AP and CNN. However, neither Biden’s permission nor the actual use of ATACMS missiles in Russia has been officially confirmed. Likewise, the use of Storm Shadow missiles by Ukraine has not been confirmed by the British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer.
