16 years in prison for poisonings in nursing home
A 61-year-old social worker was Thursday sentenced to 16 years in prison for deadly violence and attempted murder against four residents at the Tirsdalen nursing home in Randers. With this, the Western High Court upheld the judgment of the Court in Randers in February. The woman was found guilty of poisoning two male and two female residents of the nursing home. The High Court agreed with the district court that in February and March 2022, the woman on evening shifts gave the drugs Baclofen, Mirtazapine and Diazepam to residents who were not prescribed the medication. This led to the residents being hospitalized and readmitted several times with acute poisoning symptoms. One of the residents, an 81-year-old woman, died a few days after the initial hospitalization, while the other three recovered. /ritzau/
