Politiken: From culture to nature

In the twentieth century, Denmark celebrated the idea of the liberated individual, who, enlightened and encouraged by art and culture, shed oppressive norms. That has declined to such an extent that by 2024, one would be fortunate to encounter a dead herring on Danish beaches because there are simply no fish left to die in the coastal waters.
