Every tenth car in Denmark is electric
In November, Denmark saw an increase of 14,181 electric vehicles, with 8,768 being newly registered and the remainder being used imports. Electric vehicles now make up 11.5% of all personal cars in Denmark, totaling over 325,000. More than half of the vehicles sold so far in 2024 are electric, a significant increase from the 1% electric cars in summer 2020. While the number of gasoline and diesel cars has decreased by 44,000 and 57,000 respectively, gasoline cars still dominate with 1.75 million on the roads, alongside 650,000 diesel cars. The number of hybrid cars remains stable at around 125,000. Sales of electric commercial vehicles are also strong, with electric vans doubling in sales compared to November 2023 and electric trucks comprising 10.9% of truck sales. However, overall vehicle sales decreased by 8.6% in November compared to the same month last year.
