Activists end hunger strike due to health warning

After eight days, a group of activists has ended their hunger strike outside the Danish Parliament, Christianborg, aimed at halting Danish arms exports to Israel. A press release on Thursday evening announced the decision, citing health concerns. One member was warned by a doctor about the risk of hospitalization and possibly cardiac arrest if the strike continued. All five student members were advised to end their protest, having suffered symptoms including severe heart palpitations, dramatic weight loss, and fainting. The hunger strike began on May 30, with demands to immediately stop all Danish weapon exports to Israel, as the country has launched numerous attacks in the Gaza Strip since last October, resulting in civilian casualties. Despite ending the strike, the students intend to continue their fight to halt arms exports through other methods.
