Artist reported for starving pigs in exhibit

Anima, an animal protection organization, has filed a police report against artist Marco Evaristti for his exhibition in Copenhagen, which highlights the conditions of pigs in conventional pig farms by risking the starvation of three pigs. Although Anima agrees with Evaristti’s criticism of the cruelty in industrial farming, they argue using animal cruelty to expose such issues is absurd. Dyrenes Beskyttelse, another animal welfare group, also considers reporting Evaristti, pending the pigs’ suffering. Evaristti defends his actions by stating these weak pigs are given more space and care than on conventional farms. However, once the exhibition starts, all feeding will cease, leading to their likely death by starvation.
