Danish PM meets Macron to discuss Ukraine
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen is in Paris on Friday for a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. The meeting, taking place at the Élysée Palace, will focus on continued support for Ukraine. Frederiksen emphasizes that support for Ukraine is paramount and dominates international discussions. She highlights Ukraine’s urgent need for ammunition and air defense, urging continued supply without hesitation. This marks Frederiksen’s second bilateral meeting with Macron during her tenure as Prime Minister, with the first in 2019. They often meet at EU summits and recently at a Ukraine support conference. Frederiksen stresses that the war affects all of Europe, challenging international order, and underscores the necessity to take action for peace and freedom, bolster defense, enhance competitiveness, and stand with allies like France for Europe’s future.
