Novo Nordisk Foundation to donate 10 billion DKK
The Novo Nordisk Foundation will contribute 10 billion DKK to goals set in a new green tripartite agreement, focusing on land reorganization for nature and biodiversity and modernizing Danish agriculture. CEO Mads Krogsgaard Thomsen underlines the initiative’s importance for a greener Denmark, benefiting biodiversity and marine life. While terms of the funding are yet to be finalized, discussions are planned for the fall. Economic Minister Stephanie Lose stated the distribution plan will span ten years, ensuring alignment with the tripartite agreement’s objectives. The agreement also includes a progressive CO2 tax for agriculture, reaching 750 DKK per ton by 2035, aiming for a 70% emissions reduction by 2030. Additionally, a plan for a 40 billion DKK ‘Danmarks Grønne Arealfond’ has been introduced.
