Man in custody now charged with Vejle murder

South East Jutland Police have charged a man with the murder of a 58-year-old man found dead in Vejle. The 31-year-old suspect from Thisted was already under arrest since Monday, prior to being charged, for a separate case including possession of a knife allegedly for the intent to murder and for assaulting a 33-year-old man with a crowbar. The murder is suspected to have occurred before Monday morning, the time of the suspect’s initial arrest. The hearing for the suspect was conducted behind closed doors, thus details of the suspect’s statement and further information remain unknown. The police also intend to impose a name ban to protect the identity of the deceased, and are seeking information or video surveillance from local citizens. Further inquiries by Ritzau regarding the investigation and name ban handling were not answered by the police.
