Roskilde Festival prepares for wet weather

Roskilde Festival is making preparations for the wet conditions, spreading wood chips and removing water. Despite the heavy rain, with 34.5mm falling by 1pm, surpassing half of June’s average rainfall, the site remains well-drained. Division Chief Kim Kristensen reassures that despite the puddles, the event continues as planned. The festival area, which opened on Saturday, currently hosts 51,000 guests, with expectations to reach 130,000 in the coming days, making it Denmark’s fourth largest ‘city’. The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) anticipates a cooler and volatile week ahead with more rain and showers.
