Ellemann-Jensen appointed as deputy director

Jakob Ellemann-Jensen, the former leader of Denmark’s Liberal party, Venstre, has been appointed as the new deputy director of the Confederation of Danish Industry, known as Dansk Erhverv. One year after leaving politics, the 51-year-old will oversee a range of areas including digitalization, technology, international affairs, advisory services, media and finance, as well as defense and emergency readiness. Ellemann-Jensen expressed his enthusiasm for contributing to the growth and global trade of Danish businesses in a changing geopolitical climate. Brian Mikkelsen, CEO of Dansk Erhverv and also a former politician, highlighted Ellemann-Jensen’s unique political insights and experience in the business sector as invaluable assets for the organization’s focus on digitalization and international efforts. After returning from a stress-related absence early in 2023, Ellemann-Jensen definitively ended his political career in October. His resume includes past roles with PwC, IBM, and GN Store Nord, and a military career, including a deployment to Bosnia-Hercegovina.
