Denmark to host Michelin awards for two years

Denmark will host the Nordic Michelin Guide awards in 2025 and 2026, according to a press release. The 2025 event will take place at Anneberg Cultural Park in Odsherred, while the 2026 edition will be held in Copenhagen’s Tivoli. Food Minister Jacob Jensen hailed this as an opportunity for Denmark to reinforce its gastronomic leadership. The country has hosted the event twice before, in 2018 and 2019. Michelin Guide International Director Gwendal Poullennec praised Denmark’s innovative culinary approach, citing Danish chefs as sources of worldwide inspiration. In 2024, 31 Danish restaurants hold at least one Michelin star, including three with three stars each: Noma, Geranium, and Jordnær. The Michelin Guide, established in France in 1900, awards up to three stars, with three-star venues noted as ‘worth traveling for.’ The exact date for the 2026 ceremony will be revealed next year.
