GoCollective to fix train cancellations by year-end

GoCollective, formerly known as Arriva, has been issued a written demand to address its frequent train cancellations by the end of 2024. The order was given during a meeting at the Transport Ministry where the company explained the current situation, as per Social Democrat transport spokesperson, Thomas Jensen. The company entered the Danish market in 2003 and recently, in early June, they cancelled 80 train departures in Jutland over five weekdays. The reason given was the need for a major service overhaul. GoCollective must respond to inquiries regarding the number and cause of cancellations. By year’s end, it will be assessed if their contract has been breached, which may lead to them being removed from the service. Despite the year-end deadline, there is a risk that cancellations will continue throughout the year. The company, now the largest private bus and train operator in Denmark, was acquired by Mutares in May 2023, prompting the name change.
