Astronaut Andreas Mogensen is VR cycling in space

Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen, while in the International Space Station (ISS), can virtually cycle through five different routes that depict Danish landscapes, including forests, Copenhagen, and beaches, through special virtual reality (VR) glasses. During a press conference from ISS with his fellow SpaceX Crew-7 astronauts, Mogensen shared his enthusiasm for the technology, highlighting the motivational aspect and the connection to nature it provides. The VR experiment aims to determine its usefulness in maintaining astronauts’ daily exercise routines which are essential for muscle and bone health in zero gravity. Additionally, ISS experiments include 3D printing tissue resembling human organs, a potential gamechanger for future organ transplants. Mogensen has been on the ISS for about half a year, with his return postponed to no earlier than March 8, dependent on weather and crew replacement conditions.
