Danish businessman sentenced for million fraud

Funen businessman Bent Jacobsen has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison by the Odense Court for a multi-million fraud case. The sentence combines punishment for the current case and a previous conviction. Jacobsen, along with various associates, committed fraud against multiple dealers across different sectors by obtaining credit under false pretenses for items including cars, IT equipment, and building materials, knowing they couldn’t pay. The total fraud amounts to over six million Danish kroner. Jacobsen also loses the right to partake in corporate leadership unless he personally and unlimitedly guarantees the company’s obligations. He has a history of owning multiple companies that have gone bankrupt. Jacobsen and his lawyer, Anders Schønnemann, are considering an appeal to the Eastern High Court, which must be decided within two weeks.
