Easyjet’s package deals boost profits
Easyjet reported a 34 percent increase in pre-tax profits to 610 million pounds due to a rise in package holiday sales. The airline carried 89.7 million passengers, up by eight percent, with a steady load factor of 89.3 percent. Easyjet, which expanded its fleet with 16 new A320 neo aircraft, now has a total of 333 planes for peak season. The incoming CEO, Kenton Jarvis, anticipates reaching a pre-tax profit goal of one billion pounds soon and plans a 25 percent increase in package holiday customers, focusing on routes to North Africa and the Canary Islands. Easyjet did not provide specific data for its Danish operations but operates flights from Copenhagen to 13 European destinations.
