Danish Catholics had unforgettable experience with Pope

Many Scandinavian Catholics, including Danes, had a unique experience when they met with Pope Francis in Rome in February. The meeting was described as special and unforgettable by Czeslaw Kozon, the Catholic bishop in Copenhagen, in his tribute to Pope Francis, who died at 88 after a prolonged illness. Francis, who had spent over a month in the hospital earlier this year, was mourned by Catholics who had been following his health with concern. His funeral is scheduled for Saturday. The Pope, originally from Argentina, had led 1.4 billion Catholics worldwide since 2013. According to the Danish bishop, Pope Francis made significant contributions through his advocacy for life and dignity, particularly for the poor and refugees. The Copenhagen diocese organized a pilgrimage to Rome in connection with the jubilee year declared for 2025.
