MitID saves Danish firms half a billion annually

A new measurement by the Danish Business Authority shows that the adoption of MitID, MitID for business, and Digital Post is saving the Danish business sector about half a billion Danish kroner each year. The savings are primarily due to reduced login times after transitioning from the previous system, NemID. An employee can now use their personal MitID for business purposes. Despite initial costs of 430 million kroner for transitioning to the new infrastructure solutions, Digitalization Minister Caroline Stage Olsen notes that the digital solutions have created more time for businesses to focus on earning money and improving the lives of ordinary Danes. The data for the activity-based measurement comes from qualitative interviews with nine selected companies and a questionnaire among 512 businesses. These digital solutions have also provided a modern technological foundation, increased security, and better maintenance and development opportunities.
