Employee suspended after TV 2 exposé

Following the TV 2 documentary ‘The Black Swan,’ the Danish Environmental Protection Agency has temporarily suspended an employee potentially linked to the documentary’s central figure. While a media outlet highlighted the possible connection, details about the individual and specific media are not disclosed. An investigation has been initiated, but the Environmental Protection Agency has not provided details on its scope or conductors. The documentary, featuring Amira Smajic as an undercover informant, reveals discussions about fraud and environmental crime, including the deliberate understating of harmful substance emissions during demolition and illegal disposal of contaminated soil. Various persons, including lawyers and businesspeople, faced repercussions, such as environmental analyst Benny Østerø being reported by his former employer and lawyer Nicolai Dyhr relinquishing his professional certification. The expose has also led to political calls for tighter anti-money laundering controls.
