Danish Crown CEO Jais Valeur to step down
Jais Valeur will resign as the CEO of Danish Crown after nearly nine years. Valeur will continue in his position until a successor is found. Asger Krogsgaard, Danish Crown’s Board Chairman, states that new leadership is needed to tackle the significant tasks ahead for the company. Danish Crown recently announced the closure of its Ringsted slaughterhouse and the reduction of 1,200 jobs by mid-September. Valeur informed the board earlier this year that he did not envision himself as the long-term CEO of the company. A new CFO has been appointed to replace Thomas Ahle, who will join Stark in September, with the name to be announced post-summer break. The Ringsted slaughterhouse closure is due to a decrease in pig slaughtering in Denmark over the past two years.
