Telenor Denmark Loses 16,000 Customers
Changes in the credit agreement law and consumer loan regulations have negatively impacted Telenor Denmark, leading to a loss of 16,000 mobile customers since the beginning of the year. The company still has 1.674 million customers in Denmark. The adjustments have affected the company’s ability to offer cost-free credit agreements, with CEO Lars Thomsen acknowledging the challenge in meeting new regulations and their effect on sales figures. Revenue in the first quarter fell to 936 million kroner from 971 million kroner the previous year, although earnings increased to 305 million kroner from 223 million kroner. Telenor Denmark is currently expanding its 5G network, which requires significant investment, but expectations for the 5G internet service are being met with positive reception.
