Minister apologizes for work environment issues

The newly appointed Minister for Digitization, Caroline Stage Olsen of the ‘Moderaterne’ party, apologized for her role in a shameful working environment situation that has erupted within the party. Acknowledging the complaints, she expressed regret for not always being an adequate leader after maintaining silence for several days. Following a story by B.T., reporting on current and former employees’ complaints of bullying and sexism, a crisis meeting led to a decision for external psychological counselling and a whistleblower scheme. Olsen’s exact involvement remains unclear, but she voiced support for the measures decided upon in the crisis meeting, adding that she always intervened to the best of her ability. Two parliament members had sought a thorough investigation prior to the meeting, whose satisfaction with the outcome Ritzau is currently seeking.
