Tesla’s Model 3 faces price hike due to EU tariffs

Following a previous price drop, Tesla increased the price of its Model 3 by DKK 12,000 due to the EU’s tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles. Ilyas Dogru from FDM notes to BT that the increase is likely linked to the EU’s penalty on cars produced in China. The EU’s tariff aims to counteract ‘unfair’ state subsidies. As a response, car manufacturers are now required to provide a guarantee for potential duties, prompting the price adjustment. All Model 3 variants are affected, with rises between DKK 12,000 and 18,000. Despite the hike, the Tesla Model 3 remains highly popular in Denmark, being the second most sold car in the country in the first half of the year.
