Regions require 1.1 billion for hospital equipment
Danish hospitals are struggling with worn-out scanners and outdated equipment, with an urgent need for 1.1 billion Danish kroner by 2025 to maintain current medico levels, reports Jyllands-Posten. Upcoming budget negotiations with the government will include discussions on the recent tight investment constraints affecting medical equipment and digitization. Anders Kühnau of Dansish Regions warns that without new equipment, Denmark risks falling behind in providing top-notch healthcare. For example, the orthopedic surgery department at Rigshospitalet is unable to fund the equipment required, including a scanner worth six million kroner. The Danish Medical Association acknowledges these long-standing issues. Lars Arne Christensen of the Health Committee has declined to comment before the end of the Easter holiday.
