Swedes charged with terrorism after explosion
Copenhagen Police have charged two Swedish citizens with terrorism following the detonation of two hand grenades near the Israeli embassy. The two individuals, arrested on Thursday, were initially accused of possessing five grenades and executing the blasts. The Police Intelligence Service (PET) and Copenhagen Police are collaborating on further investigations. Following the incident, police border controls have been heightened due to the ongoing serious terror threat to Denmark. The grenades exploded on a rooftop terrace near the embassy early Wednesday. Hours later, a related shooting occurred near the Israeli embassy in Stockholm, which Swedish intelligence suggested could be linked to Iran. Denmark is also alert to similar threats. Both suspects, 16 and 19 years old, are from Stockholm and have no prior convictions. Denmark’s threat level remains at 4 out of 5, and security measures are adjusted accordingly, focusing particularly on Israeli and Jewish interests.
