Danish PM marks 3 Years of Ukraine War

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was in Kyiv on the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, alongside Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen. Frederiksen has visited Ukraine six times since the conflict began. Denmark has supported Ukraine with fighter jets, tanks, and humanitarian aid. Other leaders, such as Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Canada’s Justin Trudeau, and EU’s Ursula von der Leyen and Antonio Costa, were also attending. Von der Leyen emphasized the urgent need for weapons and ammunition delivery to Ukraine. During a meeting with guests, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj expressed pride in Ukrainians’ ‘heroism.’ Donald Trump, reelected as US President, commented on nearing an agreement to end the war and verbally attacked Zelenskyj, which Frederiksen condemned as an ‘attack.’ Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen urges creative financing solutions for Ukraine’s military in an op-ed.
