Danish energy sector urged to boost defenses

Denmark’s Energy Agency has raised the energy sector’s readiness level from green to yellow, signaling a medium threat level. This escalation, reflecting potential adversarial capabilities and intent, is a precaution with no specific plots detected. Energy companies are prompted to enhance awareness and preparedness. At a press briefing, Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen and Center for Cybersecurity head Thomas Flarup raised the threat level for destructive cyberattacks, underscoring the gravity of such threats to infrastructure. New legislation is proposed to fortify against external attacks. The raised sector preparedness level is a precaution separate from EU gas crisis levels and does not relate to Denmark’s stable general energy supply.
