Lawyers claim millions from Lauritz.com ex-leaders
Attorneys of Lauritz.com’s bankruptcy estate have filed a 26.6 million kroner claim against the former leadership, including Bengt and Mette Sundstrøm, based on Ekstra Bladet’s report. The claim suggests the leaders kept the company running when it should have stopped, thus incurring liability. Additionally, the Sundstrøms face a potential three-year bankruptcy ban for purportedly mixing personal and company finances. Lauritz.com went bankrupt in summer 2023 amidst media stories highlighting their delayed payments to customers. As of June 21, 2024, claims in the bankruptcy totaled 160 million kroner. Creditors’ recovery chances hinge on selling the wine castle Vignelaure, owned by Bengt Sundstrøm’s Blixtz Holding, which is in reorganization. The castle’s sale benefits bondholders with liens, not customers awaiting proceeds from sold items.
