18-year-old seriously injured during arrest

An 18-year-old man was seriously injured during a police interaction in Jomfru Anes Gård, Aalborg. The Independent Police Complaints Authority (DUP) is looking for witnesses to the arrest that occurred around 2 AM on Sunday, including any audio or video recordings. The man is not in life-threatening condition, but details of his injuries were not disclosed. DUP also seeks to clarify events leading up to the police’s presence, as mandated by the Public Prosecutor in Viborg. North Jutland Police initially reported the incident to DUP at 11 AM on Sunday. Danish law requires the DUP to investigate if citizens are seriously harmed or die during police contact, preventing police from investigating themselves.
