Moderates employ psychologist after crisis meeting

The Moderate Party has appointed an independent business psychologist and initiated a whistleblower scheme following press reports suggesting a poor work environment, including bullying and sexism. The decision comes after a nine-hour emergency meeting at Christiansborg, as revealed by the party leader Lars Løkke Rasmussen. The move is in response to complaints filed with the Danish Working Environment Authority by current and former party employees, highlighting issues with central party figures mentioned in the reports. Rasmussen distances himself from these issues and states that no firings are planned. Digitalization Minister Caroline Stage Olsen and communication head Ulla Østergaard, among others, were mentioned in the complaint. Two MPs requested an investigation, but this was not initially granted. Løkke acknowledges the need for measures to improve the psychological work environment and rebuild trust but refrains from discussing the specifics of who knew what and when.
