Nikki Haley Wins First Primary
Nikki Haley has triumphed in the Republican primary in Washington D.C., securing her first victory in the race to become the Republican presidential nominee, according to Edison Research reported by Reuters. Despite this win, her chances of becoming the nominee remain slim, as Trump has won primaries and caucuses in eight other locations, including Haley’s home state of South Carolina. The Republicans will formally nominate their presidential candidate at a national convention in July. For the nomination, a candidate needs 1,215 delegates; Super Tuesday on March 5th, will have 874 delegates at stake across 15 states, including California and Texas.
