Trump urges unity in U.S. after assassination attempt

Former President Donald Trump calls for unity and resilience after an assassination attempt on him during a Pennsylvania rally. In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, he emphasized the importance of standing together and not letting evil prevail. Trump was grazed on the ear but was not seriously injured. One person in the audience was killed and two others were seriously wounded. Trump expressed his reliance on God for preventing worse outcomes, vowing not to fear but to remain steadfast. He conveyed prayers for the injured and mourned the deceased. Looking ahead, Trump intends to speak in Wisconsin at the Republican convention, where he is expected to be officially nominated as the party’s presidential candidate. The suspected shooter, a 20-year-old registered Republican, was killed by Secret Service agents, and the motive for the attack remains unclear.
