Wammen Unveils 11 Billion Kroner Boost by 2030
Denmark’s financial leeway will increase by 11.25 billion kroner towards 2030 due to higher employment among various demographic groups, says Finance Minister Nicolai Wammen. He highlighted the high expected employment rates in coming years. The updated leeway comes from a recent forecast showing a 58 billion kroner surplus, now including funds for new investments. Despite the increase, Wammen remains cautious about spending due to economic instability and past high inflation. He announced a plan to loosen fiscal policy in the short term, with 4.1 billion kroner designated for political priorities in 2025. While the exact spending plans are undecided, Wammen mentioned welfare, communities, and upcoming budget negotiations as likely areas for allocation. The growth of the fiscal space and the generally positive outlook on the Danish economy indicate continuing economic health.
