DSB expects record christmas travellers

DSB anticipates up to 275,000 passengers during the days around Christmas, which could set a new record, according to DSB’s information chief Tony Bispeskov. This expected surge reflects a significant recovery post-COVID, with a 57% increase in the sale of Orange-tickets compared to last year. Additionally, about 90,000 passengers have already booked seat reservations by early December, up from 60,000 at the same time last year. Bispeskov notes the Christmas rush will be spread from December 20 to 23, avoiding a single peak travel day. Questioned about recent technical issues with the digital signal system in Jutland, he reassured that the fault has been repaired and traffic should proceed as planned. The peak travel routes before Christmas are primarily from Copenhagen to Aarhus, followed by Copenhagen-Odense and Copenhagen-Fredericia routes. The heaviest return day is expected to be December 26.
