Swedish teen convicted for Copenhagen murder plot
A 16-year-old Swedish boy has been sentenced to a year of juvenile supervision for planning a murder in Copenhagen last summer and inciting others to kill. Arrested in Stockholm, he felt pressured to take on the task. Another youth was acquitted. The supervision program for serious youth offenders includes strict monitoring, with a ban on drugs and alcohol, and confinement at home during weekends, often enforced with an ankle bracelet. A lower court acknowledged a 14-year-old girl’s role in the plot, but did not sentence her due to age.
