Denmark to extradite man for attempted murder
Portuguese authorities are demanding the extradition of a 33-year-old Danish citizen for an attempted murder committed in March 2022. Østjyllands Politi reports the man, internationally wanted for various crimes including gross violence and forgery, was arrested upon his arrival at Aarhus Airport. After a European arrest warrant issued on July 6, 2022, he was brought before the court in Randers to assess extradition conditions, not the charges’ merits. He’s been remanded in custody for four weeks and will undergo further evaluation by prosecutors to determine if extradition criteria are met. The accused denies involvement in the Portuguese incident and did not appeal the custody ruling.
