King Frederik in Finland: We live in changed times

During a state visit to Finland, King Frederik stated that the world is constantly changing, a sentiment echoed amidst rumors of US President Donald Trump planning to pause military support to Ukraine. Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen, present in Finland, described such a pause as ‘very serious’ and ‘wrong’. The state visit focuses on defense, highlighting Finland’s proximity to Russia. King Frederik emphasized strengthening the bond between Denmark and Finland, supported by Queen Mary’s recognition of the importance of unity. Denmark and Finland signed two cooperation agreements on emergency and defense, which include exploring joint defense procurements. The cooperation aims to accelerate timelines and could involve collaborative purchases, according to the agreement signed by Poulsen and Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen.
